Driving to work this morning, I heard one of my favorite REO Speedwagon songs, Roll with the Changes:
So if you’re tired of the same old story, turn some pages. I’ll be here when you are ready, to roll with the changes, Roll with the changes.
You know you got to, Keep on Rollin’
It’s been two weeks since the NetPlus Advisory Council met in Orlando, Florida, and I’ve been compiling our notes and extracting the nuggets of great ideas that were shared during our time together. During the first day we hold separate sessions with each group, covering topics such as our supplier programs, category development, growth strategies, reconciliation, marketing and distributor development. It is interesting to listen to the different responses from the distributors and suppliers, but there is commonality among our goals: finding new customers, growth, running a good business, managing everyday stresses, and hiring and keeping good people. The day concludes with a group dinner, which gives everyone a chance to recap the day, share stories, laugh and really get to know each other beyond our industry-selves.
On the second day, we have a combined meeting and we kicked it off with Good News. At our NetPlus weekly ‘huddles’ we start the meeting with Good News, either personal or business related. It was great to hear responses like, “It feels good to get out of your comfort zone and talk to people and learn from others,” and “Everyone is willing to listen, willing to learn and receptive to our feedback and ideas.”
For me there is nothing better than a fresh perspective, especially when you are with people who can relate and help you see things in a different way. Take the time to step back and think about what you need to do to kick-start your business and try something new. And if you’re tired of the same old story, turn some pages. We’ll be here when you are ready, to roll with the changes.
Keep on Rollin’
