I recently visited Brighton Best’s distribution center in Santa Fe Springs, Calif. During the tour, COO Peggy Hsieh told me: “Our goal is to continue the expansion of our product offering to facilitate the growth and success of the NetPlus distributor. A successful distributor is a healthy BBI. The constant push to grasp new opportunities, even when we don’t need to, is our attempt to fight complacency and to ensure continued mutual growth.”
This forward-focused philosophy has helped Brighton Best grow ten-fold since its acquisition by Ta-Chen International in 2008. Peggy, daughter of TCI founder Robert Shieh, is the COO, managing operations with her husband, Jun Xu, president. Peggy and Jun are an agile and process-oriented team, structuring operations and inventory management to ensure that product is stocked and available for next-day delivery for their distributors.
The core product focus of BBI is commodity fasteners, from sockets to hex heads, nuts, washers, screws, anchors and threaded rods, available in different material grades and types including stainless and metric. BBI has embarked on an expansion of their product offering to help independent distributors take market share in new categories that they may have never considered or had access to the right products. The Proferred line of hand tools, cutting tools and personal protection equipment offers the highest quality at the most competitive prices to provide new opportunities for growth and margin expansion for NetPlus distributors.
